Vitamins are essential nutrients required by the body to support metabolism, growth, and maintain health. One of the important vitamins for the body is vitamin C or ascorbic acid, which functions as a natural antioxidant and helps improve the immune system. Citrus fruits are natural sources of vitamin C and consist of various varieties with different nutritional contents. This study aimed to analyze the comparison of vitamin C levels in several citrus varieties using the iodimetric method. The samples used included lime (Citrus aurantifolia), lemon (Citrus lemon), mandarin orange (Reticulata), baby orange (Citrus sinensis), and Vitamin C1000 drink. The research method was carried out through an iodometric titration process using iodine reagent to determine vitamin C content based on the ability of ascorbic acid to reduce iodine into iodide ions, indicated by a color change from brown to clear. The test was conducted in three repetitions for each sample. The results showed that all samples positively contained vitamin C. The highest vitamin C level was found in lemon at 30.1%, followed by mandarin orange at 25%, lime at 10%, baby orange at 9.8%, and Vitamin C1000 drink at 1.46%. Differences in vitamin C levels were influenced by genetic factors, environmental conditions, and fruit maturity levels. The results indicate that citrus fruits contain relatively high levels of vitamin C and have the potential to serve as natural antioxidant sources beneficial for human health. The iodimetric method was considered effective because it is relatively simple, easy to perform, and sufficiently accurate in determining vitamin C levels in fruit samples.
