The development of Islamic economics in Indonesia has grown significantly in recent years. This growth is reflected in stronger legal regulations, the increasing number of Islamic financial institutions, and greater public interest in economic systems based on Islamic principles. This article aims to examine the transformation of Islamic economic law in Indonesia, the role of Islamic banking in improving public welfare, and the opportunities and challenges of Islamic economics in the digital era. The study uses a literature review method with a critical analysis approach based on relevant scientific sources. The findings show that Islamic economics has transformed from a religious norm into part of the national legal system through various regulations, especially the Islamic Banking Law. Islamic banks also play an important role as a fair financing alternative through profit-sharing systems and social fund management. In the digital era, Islamic economics has strong opportunities through technology and digital financial services. However, challenges such as low public literacy, limited human resources, cyber security threats, and uneven technological infrastructure still need to be addressed to support sustainable development.
