Abstract

The transition from secondary school to higher education is a crucial stage that requires new students to adapt to a different academic and social environment. This study aims to examine the dynamics of new students’ adaptation to university life and to identify the factors that influence the adjustment process. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research. Data sources consist of literature reviews, books, scholarly articles, and other documents related to student adaptation. The findings indicate that new students commonly face challenges in time management, understanding the learning system, and adjusting to the campus social environment. In addition, peer support, learning motivation, and communication skills play important roles in facilitating the adaptation process. The study concludes that good adaptive abilities help new students cope more effectively with academic and social challenges. Therefore, campus stakeholders need to provide supportive measures to create an environment conducive to the adjustment of new students.
