Tazkiyatun nafs is a concept in Islamic education that focuses on the process of purifying the soul through spiritual development. This concept is crucial in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) because students are equipped not only with religious knowledge but also with character development and mental health. This paper aims to examine how tazkiyatun nafs can act as a "psychosocial vaccine" for students in facing various life pressures. The method used is a literature study by reviewing several journals discussing the concept of tazkiyatun nafs and its application in Islamic boarding school education. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of tazkiyatun nafs is carried out through various spiritual habits such as muhasabah, mujahadah and riyadhah which aim to cleanse the soul and shape a better personality. The role of caregivers and kyai (Islamic religious teachers) is also very important in guiding and instilling spiritual values in students through structured religious activities in daily life at the Islamic boarding school. A religious Islamic boarding school environment can help students develop self-awareness, emotional control and mental resilience. Thus, tazkiyatun nafs can be an effective approach to maintaining mental health and preventing psychosocial problems among students within the Islamic boarding school culture.
