This study discusses the archetype of Mariah in the novel Terusir using the analytical psychology perspective of Carl Gustav Jung. The focus of the study lies in the experience of expulsion experienced by the main character and how this event gave rise to various archetypes such as Shadow, Persona, Mother (Great Mother), and Self. This study uses a literature study method with a qualitative descriptive approach through the analysis of relevant text excerpts. The results of the study indicate that expulsion is the main trigger for the emergence of Shadow, both in the form of the collective shadow of society and the internal shadow within Mariah. Persona is seen through Azhar's actions who act based on social demands, thus giving rise to a conflict between the social mask and his inner state. The archetype of Mother is seen very dominant through Mariah's sense of loss, deep longing, and maternal instinct that remains present even though she is separated from her child. In addition, the individuation process is reflected through the symbols of rain, night, and an uncertain journey, which mark the character's inner struggle towards self-awareness and self-understanding. Mariah's decision to move away from a painful environment is a representation of the archetype of Self as a form of search for psychic wholeness. Thus, the novel Terusir not only presents social conflict, but also depicts a complex psychological journey that is in line with Jung's concept of archetypes.
