The Role of library and information science in improving information literacy in the digital age

Digital technology advancements make it easier for the public to get information, but they also create challenges such as false information and hoaks. This study aims to understand the role of information literacy in the digital age. Through observation, wawancara, and document analysis, the study employs a qualitative method with a deskriptif approach. The study's findings indicate that perpustakaan is useful as a source of information through digital, e-book, and electronic journal services. Pustakawan also helps the community find, evaluate, and use information appropriately. In addition, information literacy helps the general public use digital information with a critical and perceptive mindset. Thus, Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Sains Informasi have a crucial role in improving the quality of information literacy among the general public in the digital age.
