This study aims to examine the phenomena of bilingualism and diglossia in the daily communication of students of the Arabic Language and Literature Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques including observation and interviews. The results show that students actively use Indonesian and regional languages in various communication contexts. Indonesian is predominantly used in formal situations such as academic activities, while regional languages are used in informal interactions to build social closeness. In addition, code-switching and code-mixing are found as forms of flexible language use. Bilingualism and diglossia complement each other in shaping students' communication patterns, where students are able to appropriately select language based on social context and communication goals. However, there is a tendency to use informal language in formal situations, indicating the need for greater awareness of appropriate language use in academic environments.
