Peran wakaf produktif dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat: Kajian strategi pengentasan kemiskinan dalam perspektif ekonomi syariah

Abstract

Poverty is still one of the social and economic Indonesia’s challenges. From the perspective of Islamic economics, one Islamic social finance tool that has a lot of potential to boost community economic empowerment and sustainable poverty alleviation. This research attemps to examine the function of fruitful waqf in community economic empowerment and examine its strategy as a poverty alleviation instrument. The systematic literature review (SLR) method is used in the study’s qualitative methodology. Data were collected from scientific journals, books, regulations, and official publications pertinent to the study topic. The analysis was carried out using the phases of literature identification, selection, assessment, and synthesis. The findings show that effective waqf is crucial to enhancing micro, small, and medium sized businesses (MSMEs) access to credit creating employment opportunities, increasing community income, and strengthening the economic independence of vulnerable groups. In addition, productive waqf supports a more fair allocation of wealth in line with Islamic economic justice. Nevertheless, there are still a number of obstacles to its execution, such as low waqf literacy, limited competencies of nazhir, and suboptimal waqf asset management. Therefore, synergy among stakeholders is needed to optimize productive waqf management as a sustainable economic development instrument.
