Abstract

Sufism is an important dimension in Islam that emphasizes the purification of the soul and the spiritual approach of humans to Allah SWT. This study aims to examine Ibn Arabi's thoughts on the relationship between humans and God from the perspective of philosophical Sufism. The method used in this study is a literature study through the analysis of various literary sources related to Ibn Arabi's thoughts and Islamic Sufism. The results of the study show that Ibn Arabi views God as the ultimate being, while humans and the universe are manifestations of His power known through the concept of wahdatul wujud. In his view, humans have the spiritual potential to achieve ma'rifatullah through worship, dhikr, purification of the soul, and control of lust. Human relations with God are built through love, spiritual awareness, and a deep inner approach so that humans are able to achieve spiritual peace and happiness. In addition, the concept of Insan Kamil emphasizes that humans can achieve self-perfection through noble morals and closeness to God. Ibn Arabi's thoughts are also considered relevant in modern life because they are able to provide solutions to the spiritual, moral, and social crises of contemporary society.
