Advances in information technology are driving changes in the services offered by Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia through the use of mobile banking. These changes have had a significant impact on improving service quality and expanding access to Sharia finance. However, the digitalization process also presents various challenges, such as increased operational risks including system issues, cybersecurity threats, human error, and information misuse. This study focuses on examining the types of operational risks arising in mobile banking services at Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia, as well as appropriate mitigation strategies in the era of digitalization. The methodology employed in this study is a literature review analyzing references on risk management and Sharia banking. Findings from this study indicate that operational risks become more complex in line with banks’ reliance on technology. Therefore, a comprehensive mitigation approach is required through enhanced information technology security, strengthened human resource capabilities, customer education, the implementation of regular internal audits, and the preparation of effective system recovery plans. With proper risk management, it is hoped that mobile banking services can grow safely, reliably and sustainably.
