Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed the educational landscape, including students’ reading activities in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Various digital platforms, e-books, interactive learning media, and internet access provide students with greater opportunities to obtain information and learning resources. However, digital technology also presents challenges that may affect students’ reading habits. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital literacy on the reading interest of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students through a literature review approach. The method employed is library research by examining relevant journals, scientific articles, and previous studies. The findings indicate that digital literacy positively influences students’ reading interest when properly integrated into learning activities. Digital literacy facilitates access to reading materials, enhances learning motivation, broadens information sources, and encourages independent reading habits. Nevertheless, uncontrolled use of digital technology may reduce students’ reading concentration due to excessive exposure to social media and digital entertainment. Therefore, teachers, parents, and schools play a crucial role in guiding students to utilize digital technology wisely. Integrated digital literacy can become an effective strategy to improve reading interest among Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students in the digital era.
