The growth of the green jobs sector in waste management opens significant opportunities for Environmental Engineering graduates to contribute to sustainable development. This study aims to examine green jobs opportunities in the waste management sector and the competencies required for Environmental Engineering graduates to enter this field. The method used is qualitative library research by analyzing various relevant scientific literature sources. The results show that broad opportunities exist in solid waste management, recycling, composting, and waste-to-energy conversion technologies. Required competencies include mastery of environmental technology, policy analysis skills, managerial abilities, and an understanding of circular economy principles. Environmental Engineering study programs need to align their curricula with the evolving needs of the green industry. This study is expected to serve as a reference for educational institutions and policymakers in strengthening the link and match between education and the green industry.
