Transformasi peran zakat: Dari bantuan konsumtif menuju pemberdayaan generasi ekonomi mandiri

The transformation of zakat's role from consumer assistance to independent economic empowerment has become a strategic issue in modern zakat management amidst increasing poverty, unemployment, and socio-economic disparities in society. Productive zakat presents a solution to optimize zakat funds so that they are not merely temporary assistance, but are able to create sustainable economic independence for mustahik. This study aims to analyze the transformation of zakat's function from a consumer pattern to productive zakat in improving welfare and forming an independent economic generation. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach by utilizing secondary data in the form of scientific journals, BAZNAS and LAZ reports, and literature related to productive zakat management. The analysis technique is carried out through literature study and content analysis. The results of the study indicate that productive zakat through business capital, skills training, and business mentoring can increase income, independence, and the quality of life of mustahik. In addition, the professionalism and transparency of zakat institutions are important factors in optimizing community economic empowerment.
