Kesehatan mental digital
Validasi diri di dunia maya dan pengaruhnya terhadap harga diri (Self-Esteem)

The shift in social media's function—from a communication tool to a space for identity construction—has sparked a phenomenon of seeking digital validation, wherein users' mental health and self-esteem are measured by metrics such as likes, comments, and followers (Introduction). Employing an in-depth theoretical analysis of cyber behavior, this study examines the mechanisms of instant reward systems that trigger dopamine release in the brain and their impact on individuals' psychological fluctuations (Methodology). The analysis reveals that reliance on digital recognition creates a fragile psychological foundation; failing to meet social media's statistical expectations causes an immediate drop in reactive self-esteem and triggers social anxiety. In pursuit of this recognition, users often curate their identities to project artificial happiness—a practice that ironically fosters insecurity and hinders real-world social interaction skills (Results). Consequently, this phenomenon demonstrates that digital metrics are merely superficial statistics that fail to reflect the true quality of a person's humanity. In conclusion, maintaining mental health in the digital age requires the critical awareness to build robust internal validation and to clearly distinguish between one's authentic real-life identity and the self-image presented to algorithms, ensuring that modern humans do not remain captives of the screen (Discussion).
