Parents play an important role in supporting children's development by providing a safe place to live, proper nutrition, and educational opportunities. In this article we present a review of psycholinguistic studies focusing on the role of caregiver speech in supporting the development of infants and toddlers with autism spectrum disorders. Autism is a developmental disorder in children that results in barriers in communication, behavior, and overall socialization skills. Researchers have implications for the community to have insight into parenting according to age, character and development using intervention studies. Early detection and intervention is very important for autistic children so that the treatment is quick to do and does not require a long time. We conclude that caregivers have a strong role in shaping their children's development and encourage researchers to adapt parent-mediated intervention studies to acknowledge individual differences in parents by using personalized treatment approaches.
