Abstract

This article discusses the role and function of counseling in early childhood character education. Counseling in character education aims to shape and develop positive character in early childhood, aged around 2-6 years. Character education is very important because the early childhood period is an important period in the formation of a child's values, attitudes and behavior. Overall, counseling has an important role in helping children become more balanced individuals and have stronger characters. Therefore, counseling must be an integral part of character education programs in schools. The method used in this research is a literature review which aims to collect synthesis and information from previous studies conducted by other researchers, in order to find out the role and function of counseling in early childhood character education. This article presents several main roles of counseling in character education, namely helping children develop moral values ​​and developing interests and talents.
