Jawa Barat menjadi laboratorium bencana ekstrim akibat perubahan iklim dan aktivitas gempa bumi menggunakan metode penginderaan jauh
Abstract
Extreme weather is an unusual weather condition and can have a negative impact on society and the environment, such as heavy rains, strong winds, tornadoes, and even extreme temperatures. The western part of Java is also located in region/zone VII. On the mainland of West Java there are many active faults that have the potential to cause damaging earthquakes, according to the regional map of Java. The Cimandiri-Lembang Fault and the Baribis Fault are two prominent active faults. So the purpose of this research is to provide solutions to the community regarding appropriate disaster mitigation for the two disasters that occurred in West Java and the benefits can be used as a reference for mitigation in West Java. In this study the focus is on the West Java region which is a laboratory for extreme disasters due to climate change and earthquake activity using remote sensing methods. The results of this study are maps and mitigation of earthquake-prone areas and disasters due to extreme climates in the West Java region which shows that maps and mitigation of earthquake-prone areas in West Java will identify zones with a high potential for earthquakes to occur. Meanwhile, maps and mitigation of disaster-prone areas due to extreme climates will highlight areas that are vulnerable to floods, landslides, droughts, or other extreme weather changes.
