Abstract

The mangrove forest area in Pasuruan Regency is located in the estuary area of the river and is filled with various types of mangroves. Measurements of the heavy metals Fe, Pb, and Cd in sediment samples were carried out at the Organic Chemistry Laboratory of the Chemistry Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University, Malang using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method. The heavy metal content in deep sediment samples, namely Fe metal, has a value of 3,372 mg/ml, Pb metal has a value of 0.0457 mg/ml, and Cd metal has a value of 0.0304 mg/ml. Meanwhile, the outer sediment sample contains Fe metal, which has a value of 3,102 mg/ml, Pb metal has a value of 0.0276 mg/ml, and Cd metal has a value of 0.0405 mg/m.
