Abstract

This article the socio-emotional aspects of individuals, particularly the emotion of anger that arises from social and environmental interactions, such as the phenomenon of sibling rivalry. Social-emotional competence is a person's ability to understand their own and others' feelings and manage emotions adaptively in a social context. Emotions, including anger, are influenced not only by psychological factors but also by cultural values that shape how a person expresses and controls them (Zuhdi & Nuqul, 2022). Using a descriptive approach, this article explains that sibling rivalry can be triggered by jealousy, differences in parental treatment, and age and gender gaps between siblings (Haniyyah et al., 2019). Emotional reactions such as uncontrolled anger can lead to aggressive behavior and social conflict. Therefore, controlling thought patterns and the ability to reconcile with oneself are key to maintaining emotional balance and social harmony (Rahayu et al., 2024; Mahmudah et al., 2023). This article also emphasizes the importance of parents' role in providing fair attention, open communication, and early emotional education as preventative measures against the emergence of conflict between siblings. Thus, understanding social emotions is not only beneficial for personal development, but also contributes to the formation of harmonious social relationships in the family and community environment.
