The aim of this research is to determine the role of combining general and religious education in shaping the character of students studying at Islamic boarding schools. The methods used are observation, interviews and literature review. The results of this research show that combining general and religious education in the education of students at Islamic boarding schools creates great potential for them to become agents of social change. With a deep understanding of social issues, honed critical thinking, and strong religious values, they can make significant contributions in creating a better and more just society.
