Abstract

Risk management is an important aspect of organizations, including banks, as it helps identify, evaluate, and manage potential risks using a systematic approach. One of the significant risks faced by banks, particularly Islamic banks, is reputational risk, which can result from unethical practices, internal errors, or failure to meet customer and community expectations. Dissatisfied customers often express their dissatisfaction directly to the bank or through informal channels such as conversations and mass media, causing reputational damage. This research relies on a literature review to explore the concept of reputational risk in Islamic banks. The research highlights that reputational risk can impact the stock value, market value, and long-term operations of banks. To maintain a strong and stable reputation, Islamic banks must conduct business with integrity and transparency and effectively monitor and manage reputational risk. Reputational risk is a complex challenge for Islamic banks, but a good reputation can attract customers and investors, while a bad reputation can hinder growth and development.
