Abstract
Apart from being entertainment, it is not uncommon for a writer's story to contain cultural elements in it. One novel that contains cultural elements is the novel Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. The aim of this research is to determine the image of Indonesian women in the novel Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra, which is actualized in the form of female characters. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative which refers to dialogue and narrative in the novel. The data collection technique uses the note-reading method by reading the contents of the novel carefully, understanding and sorting dialogue and narrative according to the research objectives. Then, the data was analyzed using the analysis model from Miles and Huberman by carrying out data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This research found 5 images of Indonesian women, namely, (1) patient and yielding; (2) Good at maintaining authority; (3) good and loyal; (4) not as beautiful as Caucasian women and; (5) simple. Researchers concluded that no matter how high an Indonesian woman's education is, they are still limited by culture in their attitudes and behavior, especially towards their husband as a woman's social image.
