Abstract

Smoking is one of the main risk factors that affects various aspects of health, including the blood clotting system. This study aims to evaluate the effect of smoking habits on blood clotting by examining changes in platelet function, fibrinogen levels and other coagulation factors. The research was conducted on 150 subjects who were divided into three groups: active smokers, passive smokers and non-smokers. The results showed that active smokers experienced a significant increase in platelet activity and fibrinogen levels compared to non-smokers. These changes may increase the risk of thrombosis and cardiovascular disease. These findings support the need for prevention and intervention programs to reduce smoking and its negative impact on vascular health.
