Abstract

This research aims to investigate the challenges of Islamic education in this era of globalization and how alternatives or ways to deal with them. This research is carried out through a qualitative approach using library research methods, by searching for digital references. Islamic education began from the time of Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam to the era of today's globalization, in which islamic education has gone through various recessions to reach its height during the Abbasian dynasty. However, as time passed, these successes began to be a setback for Islamic education. The decline in Islamic education, especially in the modern era of globalization, is a threat to the survival of Islamic Education. This threat poses a challenge for Islamic education to solve various problems of Islamic Education such as the crisis of character education, the lack of knowledge of the students about Islam, inadequate means of teaching to less competent educators. To solve these problems, an alternative or solution is needed that can maintain and improve the quality of Islamic education in this era of globalization.
