Abstract

The rise of marriage at a young age indicates the low effectiveness of community empowerment regarding government regulations. In Indonesia, early marriage is a common social phenomenon, occurring in villages and cities. This condition is sustainable because of the people's simple mindset. Factors such as education, economics, social, and culture play an important role in the practice of young marriage. Early marriage has an impact on the perpetrators and their families. Psychologically, early marriage has a negative impact on the thinking and behavior of young couples, with unstable emotions, often leading to arguments and divorce. The risk of maternal and infant mortality is also higher in young couples. This article aims to disseminate information about the consequences of early marriage.
