Demokrasi pluralistik
Tantangan dan integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dalam konteks Indonesia
Abstract
Democracy is often defined as equality of human rights before the law. Democracy began to be known in the Greek era, specifically in the city of Athens, which at that time was known as a scientific center that based every decision made on the majority of votes. In a democratic country, the people hold power and use it for the prosperity of the people. Islam has known the democratic system since the time of the Prophet. and Khulafaur Rasyidin, even though Muslims adopted a monarchical system of government after the time of Khulafaur Rasyidin, this cannot be used to prove that Islam is not a democratic religion. The author tries to write down Islamic principles that are in line with democratic systems such as Egalitarian (al-musawah), Liberalism (al-hurriyyah) and pluralism (al-musyarakat). Apart from that, the author also tries to describe the development and challenges of democracy throughout history, starting from Ancient Greece to its implementation in Indonesia.
