Akidah sebagai benteng pertahanan karakter siswa dalam menghadapi dampak negatif media sosial
Abstract
In an era where social media has become an integral part of daily life, the role of faith (aqidah) in shaping the character of students becomes increasingly important. This article explores how faith, as a defensive fortress, is able to protect the character of students from the negative impacts of social media. Through a qualitative approach, this article aims to examine in depth the aspects of faith that need to be instilled in students, the importance of improving students' character for the better, the importance of students being wise in using social media, and efforts to internalize Islamic faith in fortifying students' character. The results of the analysis show that the aspects of faith that need to be instilled in students include: Tauhid (Belief in the Oneness of God), Faith in Angels, Faith in the Books of God, Faith in Prophets and Messengers, Faith in the Day of Judgment, Faith in Qadar (Divine Preordainment). Developing good character in students will help them develop positive values such as honesty, integrity, responsibility, discipline, tolerance, and concern for others. In using social media, students must prioritize learning activities and academic tasks, and must also be able to manage their time wisely. Efforts that can be made include always remembering and putting trust in God in every step of life.
