Implementasi nilai pancasila
Menghadapi problematika rasisme dan diskriminasi
Abstract
Racism is a familiar phenomenon and is often encountered in the dynamics of social life. Indonesia's presence as a country rich in plurality and diversity positions it in a realm that is vulnerable to symptoms of racism. Although this diversity is considered a valuable asset for the Indonesian nation, it also carries the potential for conflict and division that cannot be ignored. Racism often arises as a result of differences, especially physical ones, of which discrimination based on skin color is one of the most striking. In fact, debates around skin color often trigger controversy, where some individuals believe that people with white skin have superiority over those with dark skin, causing injustice and discrimination in the social structure. Racism manifests when one group feels superior to others and denigrates groups that are considered inferior. This article aims to provide awareness to the public about their role as Indonesian citizens, where the country's foundations, especially Pancasila, and the motto "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" are important foundations in promoting unity in diversity. This research deliberately adopts a qualitative and descriptive approach, utilizing data collection methods through document analysis from various sources such as journals, books, and articles. The results of the study confirmed that the phenomenon of injustice such as racism and discrimination is still rampant in Indonesia, even though Pancasila, as a pillar of nationhood, affirms the principles of just humanity, solidarity, and social justice for all Indonesian people. To minimize the occurrence of racism, it is necessary to apply Pancasila values more consistently and deeply in the lives of Indonesian people.
