Abstract
This study focuses on the semantic analysis of the term "wahn" in the Qur'an, which appears in various forms in different verses especially in Surah Luqman:14 and Surah Al-Anfal:18.The semantic analysis used is to find the meaning or basic meaning of the word wahn and then associate it with the existing context. The basic meaning of "wahn" is understood as weakness, which includes both physical and mental aspects.. This study aims to explore the contextual meaning of "wahn" using the Nadzariyah Assiyaqiyyah theory, which emphasizes the interrelation of language units and the evolution of meaning based on different contexts. Two specific verses, Surah Luqman:14 and Surah Al-Anfal:18, are analyzed to understand the interpretation and implications of "wahn" in this context. The findings reveal that "wahn" is interpreted as increasing weakness in the physical context in Sura Luqman:14, while in Sura Al-Anfal:18, it signifies the weakening of the deceitfulness of the people. The implications of this research highlight the importance of understanding the meaning of words in different contexts. In addition, it is also to provide understanding to the reader that one word does not only refer to one meaning but can change according to the context in the view of Nadzariyah assiyaqiyyah.
