Potensi manipulasi putusan MK dalam kasus batas usia capres dan cawapres
Abstract
This article discusses the controversy arising from the Constitutional Court's (MK) decision regarding the age limit for presidential and vice-presidential candidates. There are concerns about the publication of laws due to rapid changes without adequate consultation. Some parties consider the MK's decision inconsistent with statutory provisions, and there are even allegations of intervention or special interests in the MK's decision-making process. Additionally, there are concerns that the MK is entertaining requests to alter previous rulings, which could provide political advantages to the President's children, seen as violating legal norms respected by the constitution. Such an approach is deemed capable of undermining public trust and legitimacy in the Court. Therefore, this article aims to highlight the legal and political essence of the MK's decision regarding the age limit for presidential and vice-presidential candidates and its impact on public trust in the institution.
