Indonesia's economy is experiencing significant growth, largely driven by the rapid development of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. This rapid growth stems from the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak a few years ago, which caused a widespread economic crisis across various sectors, including tourism, trade, industry, agriculture, livestock, and enterprise. The crisis resulted in many redundancies, prompting many individuals to turn to the MSME sector to sustain the economy. Not only does this paper outline the important role of MSMEs in Indonesia's economic development, but it also details the definitions, types, supporting factors, and inhibiting factors that affect the MSME sector in an effort to develop Indonesia's economy. In addition, this work also describes the increased interest in MSMEs after the Covid-19 outbreak a few years ago. The purpose of this scientific work is to illustrate how crucial the contribution of the MSME sector is in Indonesia's economic growth. The author uses the literature study method by collecting information from various journals and articles, then analyzing them carefully and describing the results clearly in the preparation of this article.
