Democracy in Indonesia is a reflection of the principle of popular sovereignty implemented through various political and social mechanisms. The nature of Indonesian democracy is rooted in the understanding that supreme power rests with the people, which is actualized through free, fair and periodic elections. The implementation of democracy is seen in institutional structures such as parliament, the president, and the judiciary, which function as a counterweight to power. In addition, public policies formulated through participatory processes emphasize the involvement of citizens in decision-making. The praxis of democracy includes daily actions that involve the active participation of citizens in various aspects of politics, such as voting, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and involvement in civil society organizations. The relationship between the nature, implementation and praxis of democracy is mutually reinforcing; the nature of democracy forms the basic framework that is realized through implementation, while the praxis of democracy reflects the implementation of democratic values in real life. This study explores the interrelationship between these three elements in the Indonesian context, as well as the importance of democracy derived from Pancasila.
