The Qur’an, as the cornerstone of Islamic teachings, offers thorough guidance on how religion contributes to the development of a just, ethical, and harmonious society. However, as social conditions and cultural dynamics evolve, interpretations and practices of religion often undergo significant changes. This study explores the core essence of religion as presented in the Qur’an and examines its relevance in light of contemporary social theories, including functionalism, conflict theory, and symbolic interactionism. By employing a thematic interpretation approach (tafsir maudhu’i), the research analyzes pertinent Qur’anic verses and connects them with sociological insights to better understand the role religion plays in society. The results indicate that Islam sees religion as a foundational element in structuring social order, shaping moral conduct, and promoting communal well-being. When the understanding of religion drifts from its original Qur’anic principles, it can lead to various societal problems, including conflict, intolerance, and religious extremism. Therefore, an integrated and multidisciplinary perspective is crucial to grasp the transformation of religion and to safeguard both its spiritual and social functions in an ever-changing world.
Rahmat makruf Syahrullah ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/18471 Fri, 10 Apr 2026 07:30:28 +0000 C Cicil Emas dan Stabilitas Keuangan PNS: Studi Kasus Nasabah KCP Probolinggo Kraksaan https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/24917
The Gold Installment product is an innovation from Pegadaian that allows customers to buy gold in installments, with the main advantages being a safe investment and potential profits from rising gold prices. Religious activities in Indonesia function not only as a means of fulfilling spiritual needs, but also as a medium for social interaction that instills values of togetherness and solidarity. Nevertheless, there is a gap in regulations that place religious activities in the private sphere without normative recognition of their social function. This research uses a qualitative approach with sociological analysis to understand the contribution of religious practices as social capital. The results show that Burdah and Maulid Diba' serve as builders of solidarity and collective identity through intense and repeated social interactions. Public religious gatherings function as spaces for social integration that bring together residents across different backgrounds and strengthen the values of togetherness. Overall, routine religious activities have proven to be effective instruments in strengthening social cohesion through the formation of social networks, internalization of shared values, and strengthening of religious social capital that binds residents emotionally and functionally within the community.
irfan nawawi, Siti Halimatus Sa’diyah, Bilkaffa ‘Aina Tazkiya, Sohibatul Islamiah, Nawwaf Zaky Althaf ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/24924 Thu, 05 Feb 2026 08:00:55 +0000 Pengabdian Masyarakat Sebagai Proses Pembentukan Kematangan Profesional Berbasir Pilar Ulul Albab https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/24951
Community service through Student Field Work (KKM) is an integral part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of higher education, which aims to bridge academic knowledge with the real needs of the community. In practice, KKM at the village level is often understood as a short-term administrative activity oriented towards fulfilling institutional obligations, so that it has not yet fully produced a sustainable social impact. This condition shows a gap between the normative objectives of KKM and the reality of complex social problems in rural communities, such as stunting, poor parenting, extreme poverty, low technological literacy, and challenges in strengthening religious moderation.

This study aims to analyze how the integration of the Ulul Albab pillar and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework can be used as a basis for implementing KKM in Kaliasri Village to encourage sustainable social change. The Ulul Albab paradigm, which emphasizes a balance between the spiritual (dzikir), intellectual (fikir), and social praxis (amal shalih) dimensions, is considered relevant to strengthening students' values, ethics, and social responsibility in community service. This study uses a qualitative approach with the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which places students and village communities as active subjects in the process of problem identification, program planning, activity implementation, and evaluation. This study uses a qualitative approach with the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which places students and village communities as active subjects in the process of problem identification, program planning, activity implementation, and reflective and continuous evaluation.

The results of the study show that integrating the values of remembrance, reflection, and righteous deeds within the framework of the SDGs can strengthen the critical awareness of students and the community, increase the active participation of villagers, and encourage a sense of ownership of the KKM program. A participatory approach accompanied by long-term assistance has proven to be more effective in building the capacity of village human resources than interventions that are temporary and ceremonial in nature. Thus, Ulul Albab-based community service not only contributes to solving village social problems, but also plays a strategic role in shaping the professional maturity of students as ethical, reflective, and sustainability-oriented agents of social change.
Kandita Deswira Hardanti ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/24951 Mon, 09 Feb 2026 03:40:03 +0000 Kajian Ayat-Ayat tentang Hak Hidup, Kebebasan Beragama, dan Martabat Manusia dalam Perspektif Imam Al-Qurtubi dalam Kitab Al-Jami’ li Ahkam al-Quran https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/20935
This study explores the principles of the right to life, liberty, and human dignity as presented in the Qur'an, specifically through the interpretation of Imam al-Qurṭubī in al-Jāmi‘ li Aḥkām al-Qur’ān. As a renowned classical interpreter, al-Qurṭubī offers a legal interpretation that is enriched with linguistic analysis, social context, and legal arguments. The purpose of this research is to investigate how certain verses related to the right to life, such as QS. al-Mā’idah 5:32, verses concerning religious freedom like QS. al-Baqarah 2:256, and verses addressing human dignity such as QS. al-Isrā’ 17:70 are understood and elaborated from his perspective. By employing a literature review and thematic analysis, this study reveals that al-Qurṭubī emphasizes that the right to life is a fundamental principle safeguarded by the provisions of sharia law; freedom, particularly in religious matters, is respected within the limitations necessary to maintain public order; and human dignity is a universal value bestowed by God upon all humanity without discrimination. Al-Qurṭubī's interpretation illustrates that the teachings of the Qur'an have a robust foundation in the values of human rights, even when framed within traditional Islamic law. The method of compiling this book focuses on easy access and clarity of information regarding hadith narrators, especially in the aspect of jarh wa ta'dil (criticism and assessment of the quality of narrators). Ibnu Hajar uses a systematic arrangement based on the alphabetical order of the narrator's names by abbreviating and cutting out information that is considered long-winded, as well as adding important information that supports the assessment of the narrator's credibility. In his preamble, Ibnu Hajar also determined the levels of jarh wa ta'dil which consisted of twelve levels and used special terms that had opposite meanings to avoid errors in assessment. This study aims to analyze the values in biotechnology knowledge in relation to cloning through an integrative humanistic perspective. The method used is a literature study from various disciplines, involving the collection of literature from the philosophy of science, bioethics, sociology of knowledge, and Islamic studies. The analysis was conducted using a descriptive critical approach and thematic synthesis. The results of the study show that there is tension between scientific development and humanism, with high medical risks (Wargasetia, 2010), violation of clone autonomy (Mutik & Suciptaningsih, 2024), eugenic exploitation (Sibarani, 2024), as well as interference with human nature and lineage according to Islam (Prawira et al., 2022). Reproductive cloning is considered contrary to universal human values. The implications of this research recommend a strict moratorium, regulations based on a value framework, and interdisciplinary dialogue between scientists, ethicists, scholars, and policymakers to steer biotechnology toward social justice and intergenerational solidarity.
Latifa Izzatul Jannah, Alvina Kumala Sari, Izza Safira, Muhammad Azka Arfani, Ahmad Bukhori ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/20772 Fri, 09 Jan 2026 02:01:46 +0000 filsafat ilmu sebagai landasan logika berpikir dalam menyikapi perkembangan teknologi berupa AI : etika berpikir dan penggunaan teknologi AI dalam keilmuan https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/20763
A B S T R A K
This review maps the shifts in digital epistemology that occurred in Indonesia between 2020 and 2025. Its main focus is on how technology reshapes knowledge sources, information authority, and the ways people determine truth. The method employed in this article is qualitative library research grounded in an interpretive–constructivist paradigm. The study examines several relevant publications using thematic analysis, in-depth interpretation, and conceptual synthesis. The findings reveal three major shifts: the transfer of authority from professional experts to social media and popular content; the role of algorithms in determining the perceived credibility of information; and the increasing use of digital data and artificial intelligence as personal reference points. The reviewed evidence also shows that popularity and emotional resonance influence public trust more strongly than scientific validity, particularly among adolescents and university students. In conclusion, digital epistemology expands access to knowledge while simultaneously heightening the risk of misinformation. Therefore, critical digital literacy and ethical regulation have become essential.
Putri Febrina Al Rasyidah; Finanda Puteri Chasanah, Dwi Hasta Wahyu Ramadan, Dwi Hasta Wahyu Ramadan ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/20384 Wed, 21 Jan 2026 03:40:15 +0000 Relevansi etika ilmiah sebagai landasan kejujuran dalam penelitian di era digital https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/21180
The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to scientific research practices, from data collection and information processing to the publication of findings. Volatile adolescent emotions can trigger explosive, aggressive, or withdrawn behavior, leading to prolonged conflict. Good emotional regulation plays a crucial role in preventing aggressive behavior and enhancing emotional resilience in adolescents. Adolescent emotional regulation is influenced by internal factors, including mindset, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness, as well as external factors such as family parenting styles, social support, and the campus environment. Positive emotions and environmental support can enhance adolescents' emotional resilience to social stress. Families, schools, and social environments need to systematically implement adolescent emotion management to develop resilient and socially mature adolescents. Practical strategies include assertive communication, emotional pauses, and self-reflection, among others, which help adolescents better manage their emotions. This enables them to navigate social conflict more wisely and enhance their psychological well-being. Furthermore, family and social environments play a fundamental role in supporting adolescents' emotional regulation. Parents and families should foster warm and supportive communication so that adolescents feel free and comfortable to open up. Campuses should provide an educational environment free from bullying and supportive of adolescents' social and emotional development. Society must support the creation of a more youth-friendly social environment.
rahillah alifia ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/20886 Thu, 22 Jan 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Role of Philosophy of Science in Cultivating a Critical Attitude towards Free Opinion in the Modern Era https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/20335
In an era of technological advancements that have a profound and diverse impact, we must be able to sort and think critically. However, many of us have lost the ability to think critically and reflectively, even though in this era, what we must use is our own way of thinking and how we sort through available information. Because not all information we receive is true and accurate, critical and reflective thinking is necessary to distinguish between truthful information and hoaxes. In this context, the philosophy of science plays a crucial role in shaping systematic scientific thinking. Philosophy is a science whose truth is rational and logical. Furthermore, we must apply critical information evaluation to prevent us from carelessly spreading news that is not necessarily true. The method used in this study is qualitative, involving a literature review of various relevant scientific sources on risk management and Islamic banking. The results of this study reveal that operational risks in Islamic banking stem from failures in internal processes, human errors, weaknesses in technological systems, as well as uncontrollable external factors. Additionally, there is a specific risk characteristic in Islamic banking, namely compliance risk with Sharia principles, which can affect the institution’s reputation and legitimacy. The risk identification process is a critical stage for identifying various risk exposures, which are then measured using standard approaches such as the Basic Indicator Approach (BIA) and the Standardized Approach (SA). Furthermore, risk mitigation efforts are implemented by applying the principle of prudence, strengthening internal control systems, improving workforce quality, diversifying the financing portfolio, and optimizing oversight by the Sharia Supervisory Board. Thus, the implementation of integrated operational risk management that complies with Sharia principles is essential for maintaining stability, enhancing public confidence, and supporting the sustainability of the Islamic banking sector.
Inas Attamimi ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25399 Fri, 17 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Peran filsafat memandang etika ilmu terhadap lifestyle dan normalisasi medsos https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/20300
This article discusses the role of philosophy in examining the ethics of science toward lifestyle phenomena and the normalization of social media in the digital era. The rapid development of technology and social media has significantly transformed people’s lifestyles, especially among younger generations who consider social media an inseparable part of daily life. Digital platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube not only facilitate communication and access to information but also influence identity formation, lifestyles, and individual ways of thinking. Phenomena such as Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), social media dependency, and shifts in social values have become important ethical and philosophical issues. In this context, philosophy and the ethics of science function as moral foundations for evaluating the use of social media so that it remains aligned with human values, social responsibility, and self-awareness. Through epistemological, ontological, and axiological approaches, individuals are encouraged to think critically in filtering information, understanding the nature of social media, and determining its values and benefits. Furthermore, self-awareness and moral control are essential in maintaining balance between real life and digital life. Therefore, philosophy provides a reflective and ethical framework for addressing the challenges of social media normalization in modern society.

Khafidhotun Nafisa Azzahrani, Palupi Wira Pertiwi, Muhammad Rizqi Nazaruddin Az-zuhri ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/20300 Tue, 27 Jan 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Keseimbangan emosional Miskawaih https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/19622
This article examines Ibn Miskawaih’s concepts of controlling desire (al-nafs al-bahimiyyah) and emotion (al-nafs al-sabū‘iyyah) from a rational perspective. Using a qualitative method through library research, this study analyzes Miskawaih’s theory of the human soul, which consists of three faculties: reason (al-nafs al-nāṭiqah), emotion, and desire. The discussion focuses on two instinctive faculties that strongly influence human behavior. Findings indicate that moral and emotional balance can only be achieved when reason functions as the primary regulator, guiding both desire and anger to remain within proper limits. Self-control is developed through habituation, continuous training, self-evaluation, behavioral modification, and creating a supportive environment, all of which align with the principle of the “middle path” (al-wasath). This study concludes that Miskawaih’s approach to self-regulation aligns with modern psychological theories of emotional regulation, making it relevant for enriching Islamic ethical studies and the development of human character.
Ravita Nisa Rahmawati, Nadya Nurul Azkiya, Ja'far Ashshoodiq ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/19622 Tue, 27 Jan 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Epistemologi, ontologi, dan aksiologi dalam ilmu sosial https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/20301
This article discusses the role of philosophy of science through its three main foundations, namely epistemology, ontology, and axiology, in understanding social change. Philosophy is understood as the basis of scientific thinking that helps humans discover truth, understand reality, and evaluate the usefulness of knowledge in social life. Epistemology examines the sources, methods, and validity of knowledge; ontology studies the nature of existence and the objects of knowledge; while axiology emphasizes values, ethics, and the benefits of knowledge for human life. These three branches of philosophy are interconnected and serve as the foundation for understanding continuously developing social dynamics. Social change can occur through evolution or revolution and is influenced by internal factors such as the development of science, technology, social conflict, and population growth, as well as external factors such as globalization and natural disasters. From a philosophical perspective, social change is viewed as an unavoidable process because society continuously experiences transformations in social relations, political systems, culture, and social structures. Therefore, philosophy of science plays an important role in shaping critical, systematic, and reflective thinking in order to understand social phenomena comprehensively. Thus, epistemology, ontology, and axiology become essential foundations for explaining social change scientifically and philosophically.
fatir riyachul musya, CHAYARA ELYA RAMEIZA LABIBA, Zahara Fajaria Achmad ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/20301 Tue, 27 Jan 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Penggunaan Indikator Alami Sebagai Media Pembelajaran Kimia di Sekolah https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/24915
This study discusses the use of natural indicators as an alternative option in teaching Chemistry in schools, particularly for the topic of acids and bases. The reason behind this research is the limited access to synthetic indicators and also the lack of laboratory facilities in various educational institutions, which results in experimental practices that are not optimal in reinforcing the concept of pH. Through a literature review, the steps for making natural indicators are explained, which usually include material selection, pigment extraction, and filtration processes. Various sources indicate that materials such as hibiscus, purple cabbage, turmeric, guava leaves, and roselle have pigments that can change color in acidic or basic conditions, making them relevant as visual tools for understanding the characteristics of solutions. The literature also shows that the use of natural indicators can support active and contextual learning methods because they use readily available materials. Overall, this study highlights that natural indicators are a practical, budget-friendly, environmentally friendly teaching tool, and suitable for schools with limited facilities, thus strengthening students' understanding of the basic concepts of acids and bases.

Siti Juwita Nur Salma ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/24915 Mon, 02 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Efektivitas penyuluhan perawatan jenazah dan pendampingan posyandu dalam penguatan peran sosial masyarakat di Kelurahan Jodipan https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/24921
Community service activities through the Student Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Mahasiswa/KKM) in Jodipan Village aimed to strengthen the community’s socio-religious and health capacities through funeral care counseling and Posyandu assistance. Greimas https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/22757
This research analyzes the Indonesian folklore "Malin Kundang" using A.J. Greimas's narratology theory to identify its actantial scheme, the function of each actant, and its narrative functional model. "Malin Kundang" is a rich cultural heritage embodying significant moral values. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through reading and note-taking techniques from the narrative text. The analysis reveals that the story's structure can be comprehensively understood through Greimas's six actants: Malin Kundang as the subject who initially struggles against poverty (sender) to achieve wealth (object), aided by his hard work (helper). However, his success leads to arrogance (internal opponent) and subsequently the rejection of his mother (external opponent), culminating in his transformation into stone. The wider community serves as the receiver of the strong moral message about filial piety and the consequences of disobedience. The story's functional model follows an initial situation marked by poverty, a transformation phase encompassing the competence test, the acquisition of the object, and the glorious test (the climax of the mother's rejection), leading to a tragic final situation imbued with moral lessons. This study affirms the effectiveness of Greimas's theory in uncovering the underlying structure and didactic messages within folklore.
Lativa Husna ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/22757 Tue, 07 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Figur perempuan mandiri dalam Al-Qur`an https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/24420
Discussions about women's independence are often understood as limited to personal freedom separated from the framework of religious values. There are many aspects of the human brain that I have always wanted to explore—the complexity of each component, its functions, and how it operates to maintain stability in our lives. This is not an exhaustive discussion; this journal only addresses one of many topics, namely the methods or techniques to prompt the brain to retrieve information we wish to recall, such as during exams. During exams, we certainly need the ability to access the information we have learned. Logically, this technique utilizes association, visualization, spatial allocation, and emotional involvement. Thus, with this technique, we do not spend excessive time retrieving the information. Previously, I also investigated what causes the brain to recall information that has been stored for a long time. Sometimes, I myself forget events that occurred just a few days ago, yet I still remember moments from several years back. By understanding these reasons, they can be transformed into a memorization technique to make the learning process more effective and efficient. It turns out that the brain has a unique way of storing information, and it can even be said that our memories from childhood do not truly disappear; we simply need something to trigger their recall.
Nurul Farida ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/23171 Mon, 12 Jan 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Model pengelolaan program adiwiyata dalam membangun budaya peduli lingkungan di MIN 1 kota Malang https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/22232
This article examines the management model of the Adiwiyata Program at MIN 1 Kota Malang in fostering an environmentally conscious school culture through systematic and sustainable practices. It highlights the stages of implementing the School-Based Environmental Culture Movement (GPBLHS), the involvement of all school stakeholders, and strategic partnerships with external institutions such as the local water company (PDAM), health centers, and waste banks. The findings indicate that program success is strongly supported by structured planning, the integration of environmental values into learning activities, and active student participation as agents of change. The program is further strengthened by external collaborations that provide facilities, education, and technical assistance. However, several challenges remain, including resistance to environmental initiatives, inconsistent behavioral discipline, and limited supporting facilities. This article concludes that the effectiveness of the Adiwiyata Program depends not only on administrative compliance but also on the internalization of ecological culture through continuous collaboration between schools, families, and communities. Apart from that, the storytelling method also functions to develop imagination, interest in reading, and moral values that support overall language development. The discussion in this article confirms that the effectiveness of the storytelling method is influenced by several elements, including the teacher's ability to tell stories, selecting stories that are appropriate to the child's age and stage of development, and the use of interesting supporting media. Thus, it can be concluded that the storytelling method is an appropriate and effective learning strategy for optimizing children's language development at an early age. It is hoped that this article can be a reference for educators, researchers and early childhood education practitioners in creating innovative and meaningful language learning.
Indonesia is a country with a very high level of diversity, encompassing ethnic, religious, cultural, and linguistic aspects. This diversity serves as both a source of richness and a challenge in community life. This study aims to explore the contribution of tolerance to the maintenance of social harmony through the perspectives of pluralism and multiculturalism. The methodology employed is a qualitative approach using literature analysis of various relevant academic sources. The findings indicate that tolerance is a crucial element in a creating a harmonious social environment within Indonesia’s diverse society. Pluralism emphasizes the recognition of differences as a social reality, while multiculturalism promotes equal appreciation of cultural diversity. The implementation of these two concepts in societal life can strengthen unity and prevent the emergence of social conflicts. Therefore, active involvement from society, the education sector, and the government is essential in instilling the principles of tolerance, pluralism, and multiculturalism in order to achieve a peaceful and inclusive social life in Indonesia.
shadia yosvita azalie aufabrina ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25265 Thu, 02 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Peran dukungan sosial dalam mengurangi distress emosional pasca putus cinta https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25266
This study aims to understand the role of social support in reducing emotional distress in young adults experiencing heartbreak. Using a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design, the study involved two participants aged 18 to 25 years who had experienced heartbreak in the last 3 to 12 months. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analysis using Braun & Clarke's Thematic Analysis (2006). The results showed that emotional distress after a breakup manifested in the form of deep sadness, anxiety, loss of motivation, and impaired academic functioning in one of the participants. Social support plays an important role in the process of emotional recovery through three main functions: (1) emotion regulation through the opportunity to talk and be listened to without judgment, (2) the reformation of cognitive perspectives through constructive advice, and (3) the provision of a secure base that replaces the lost attachment figure. The most influential sources of social support came from family (especially mothers), friends who provided empathetic responses, and interviewers who created emotionally safe spaces. This study has implications for practitioners, educational institutions, and society to improve understanding of effective and emotionally sensitive forms of social support.
Nur-muchamad_ Muchamad Asrofi ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25266 Thu, 02 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Implementasi model Project-Based Learning (PjBL) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS di era digital https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25255
The implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model is a relevant instructional approach in the digital era to enhance students’ critical thinking skills, particularly in Social Studies (IPS). The complexity of fund distribution involving various types of contracts triggers a high risk of default, which can directly impact the decline in the quality of productive assets. Through a qualitative literature review, the analysis shows that effective risk mitigation requires synergy between proactive and reactive approaches. The preventive strategy in the pre-disbursement phase focuses on tightening customer feasibility selection through the 5C principles (Character, Capacity, Capital, Condition, Collateral), integrating Sharia compliance, and continuous monitoring based on an Early Warning System (EWS). Meanwhile, in the event of a decline in collectibility, curative strategies are applied through a persuasive coaching approach, financing restructuring (rescheduling, reconditioning, restructuring), up to the execution of collateral settlement for customers who lose business prospects. The integration of these two strategies is proven to be crucial in suppressing the surge in NPF rates, which directly implies minimizing capital provisioning, controlling operational expenses, and optimizing the bank's profitability level.
Abdul Razak Baihaki ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25319 Tue, 07 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Risk mitigation for kiosk relocation in station revitalization projects https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/20366
This study aims to analyze the potential risks of kiosk relocation in station revitalization projects on place identity and consumer behavior, as well as to propose appropriate mitigation strategies. The research employs a literature review method with a theoretical approach, focusing on concepts of area revitalization, place identity, consumer behavior, and micro-business dynamics. The findings indicate that kiosk relocation generates not only physical impacts but also triggers a crisis of place identity by disrupting consumers’ emotional attachments and spatial memories. Changes in mobility flows and spatial structures may alter consumption habits, reduce visit frequency, and eliminate spontaneous purchases that constitute a primary income source for small vendors. These conditions increase the socio-economic vulnerability of micro-enterprises. Therefore, effective mitigation strategies are required, including placing kiosks along main passenger routes, maintaining visual and symbolic continuity, providing transitional incentives, integrating digital promotion, and actively involving vendors in the planning process. This study aims to understand cancel culture as a form of social control among the younger generation and its impact on moral justice and local cultural values. The method applied in this study is a literature review of various national studies that explore the moral, psychological, and cultural dimensions of this phenomenon. The findings of the analysis show that cancel culture functions as a tool to enforce participatory social norms, but it has also undergone a shift in meaning from moral solidarity to a tool for group identity. This practice is often influenced by emotional biases and moral views that can lead to injustice, social polarization, and symbolic violence in the digital space. In addition, psychosocial impacts such as emotional pressure and fear of expressing opinions also reinforce the negative effects of this phenomenon. Therefore, a reconstructive approach that emphasizes restorative justice by integrating Indonesian cultural values such as understanding, deliberation, and social harmony is needed. FoMO arises when individuals feel anxious, afraid of missing out on information, or feel less valuable than others who portray their lives ideally on social media. This study aims to analyze the role of philosophy of science in understanding the FoMO phenomenon, specifically through the perspectives of ontology, epistemology, and axiology. From an ontological perspective, social media has transformed the essence of happiness into a digital construct dependent on external validation. From an epistemological perspective, information about happiness is obtained not through direct experience or rational reasoning, but through representations on social media that are often considered truth. Meanwhile, from an axiological perspective, the FoMO phenomenon raises moral and value issues because it increases anxiety, social communication, impulsive behavior, and a decreased quality of life. Based on a study of available journal literature, philosophy of science presents itself as an analytical instrument capable of clarifying the concept of happiness, critiquing digital constructs, and directing individuals towards authentic values and more rational actions. Thus, philosophy plays an important role in helping individuals understand FoMO more deeply and restore the meaning of happiness that is in accordance with human values.
Adilla Ulya Haq, Anggun Solikhah, Moh. The hijab functions not only as a symbol of obedience and spiritual devotion for Muslim women but also as part of cultural expression shaped by the growth of the modest fashion industry. Technological advancement and the dominance of social media have transformed how women interpret and display their hijab, giving rise to the phenomenon of “algorithmic piety,” in which aesthetics and public validation significantly influence religious expression. At the same time, cultural acculturation such as the integration of local motifs like batik demonstrates that the hijab serves as a creative medium that enriches Indonesian Muslim women’s identity. However, the commodification of the hijab and its reduction to a mere fashion trend risk diminishing its spiritual meaning. This study seeks to identify the forms and changes in idealism in adulthood and old age by referring to developmental theories that individuals in adulthood tend to direct their idealism towards career achievement, quality interpersonal relationships, contributions to society, and the achievement of meaning in life. Conversely, in old age, idealism shifts to a focus on the wisdom of reflection on life experiences, the continuation of personal values, and the desire to achieve self-integrity. These changes are influenced by various biological, social, and psychological factors, including life experiences, changes in social roles, and cognitive processes such as a decrease or increase in the ability to control emotions. The results show that The Matchmaker reproduces and simultaneously criticizes patriarchal ideology through discursive strategies such as religious-euphemistic diction, visual symbols, and narratives that display contradictions between sharia legitimacy and injustice against women. This study concludes that the film functions as a medium of symbolic resistance to oppressive social structures, while opening a space for critical dialogue on morality and gender relations in the context of modern Arab culture.
Farah Mutia ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/21233 Fri, 10 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Implementasi Teori Behaviorisme dalam program rehabilitasi sosial bagi remaja beresiko https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/21243
This study aims to analyze the implementation of behaviorist theory in social rehabilitation programs for at-risk adolescents. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach by examining behaviorist concepts, forms of juvenile delinquency, and relevant rehabilitation techniques. The results indicate that behaviorism views behavior as the result of interactions between stimulus and response that can be observed and modified through reinforcement and punishment. In the context of rehabilitation, the application of techniques such as reinforcement, punishment, shaping, and modeling has proven effective in reducing maladaptive behaviors and fostering positive habits among adolescents. Structured rehabilitation programs are able to improve discipline, motivation, and participants’ social skills. However, this approach needs to be combined with other psychological interventions to address individuals’ internal aspects. Therefore, the implementation of behaviorism significantly contributes to supporting recovery processes and social reintegration more effectively and sustainably. This study also emphasizes the importance of family support, environment, and government policies in the success of rehabilitation. A holistic approach integrating social, spiritual, and cultural aspects is essential to prevent recidivism and enhance adolescents’ quality of life after rehabilitation.
Istiqomah Sprianti ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/21243 Fri, 10 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Urgensi Bahasa Arab di Era Teknologi https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/21249
This study aims to examine the urgency of the Arabic language in the digital technology era and its learning strategies. This transformation has simplified transaction flows, increased recording accuracy, and accelerated administrative processes through the integration of digital applications. Customers can now access a variety of services in real time, from fee simulations and pawn status monitoring to tenor extensions, significantly increasing efficiency and convenience. At the same time, digitalization has expanded financial inclusion by providing more equitable access to services. However, given that gold pawning involves physical assets, digitalization cannot completely eliminate the need for manual verification and appraisal processes at branch offices. Additional challenges arise from sharia compliance, data security, and the digital literacy gap among users. Therefore, strengthening governance, sharia validation, and implementing digital security systems are essential to ensure that service quality remains compliant with sharia principles. This research departs from the debate among scholars regarding the permissibility of the BPJS social insurance scheme, especially related to issues of contract, potential riba, gharar, and elements of takaful (mutual assistance) within its system. Through a qualitative approach based on literature study, this article compares the opinions of classical scholars, contemporary scholars, MUI fatwas, as well as the views of modern fuqaha who see BPJS as a public necessity in the context of health protection. The results of the study show that most contemporary scholars tend to allow BPJS on the grounds of emergency, necessity, and the existence of the principle of public benefit, although improvements are still needed in elements that are not yet fully in accordance with sharia. This article concludes that BPJS in principle can be accepted in the perspective of Islamic law as long as it is directed toward a social security system that is more transparent, free from usurious practices, and oriented toward justice and mutual assistance. However, in contemporary political practice, its meaning has increasingly been contested and instrumentalized to advance particular group interests. This article aims to examine the tension between the ideal conception of national identity and the political reality characterized by adversarial and delegitimizing practices in Indonesia. This study employs a qualitative method using a literature review approach, drawing upon relevant scholarly journals and academic books. The findings reveal that democratization, while expanding political freedoms, has simultaneously intensified identity-based divisions, particularly along religious and nationalist lines, thereby contributing to heightened social polarization, declining public trust in governmental institutions, and the proliferation of misinformation. Moreover, the prevalence of unethical political communication practices, including excessive personal branding and performative political behavior, further undermines the substantive quality of democratic processes by privileging image over policy discourse. Therefore, this study underscores the necessity of reconstructing an inclusive and substantive understanding of national identity, alongside reinforcing political ethics, in order to ensure the resilience and sustainability of democracy in Indonesia.
MOCH NADZARUDIN SAMSUDIN ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25409 Mon, 20 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Partisipasi politik atau sekadar formalitas https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25432
This study examines the phenomenon of political participation in modern Indonesian democracy, which tends to be trapped in procedural and formalistic aspects. High voter turnout does not necessarily reflect substantive democratic quality when it is not accompanied by critical awareness, political understanding, and civic responsibility. This research employs a qualitative method with a literature study approach by analyzing various references, scientific journals, official documents, and academic studies related to democracy and political participation. The findings reveal that pseudo-participation appears in voting behavior without understanding candidates’ visions, missions, and track records. This phenomenon is influenced by low political literacy, the dominance of social media that creates echo chambers, and money politics that fosters transactional relationships between voters and candidates. The resulting impacts include the emergence of procedural democracy, declining public trust in state institutions, and weakening governmental integrity. To address these issues, transformation toward deliberative democracy is required through strengthening political education, improving digital literacy, and revitalizing the culture of deliberation in the public sphere. Therefore, democratic quality should not only be measured by the number of participants in elections, but also by the level of citizens’ awareness in making rational and responsible political choices for the common good.
SHOHIBBUL BAHRI Annan ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25432 Mon, 20 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Analisis penerapan manajemen risiko dalam meningkatkan kinerja keuangan pada perbankan syariah https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25426
This study aims to analyze the implementation of risk management in improving the financial performance of Islamic banking. Islamic banking, as a financial intermediary institution, plays an important role in the economy; however, it also faces various risks such as financing risk, operational risk, liquidity risk, and market risk. Therefore, the implementation of risk management becomes an essential aspect in maintaining the stability and sustainability of banking operations. The research method used in this study is a literature review by examining various relevant journals and previous studies. The results indicate that the implementation of risk management has a positive effect on the financial performance of Islamic banks, which is measured through profitability indicators such as Return on Assets (ROA). However, not all risk components have the same impact. Operational efficiency, proxied by BOPO, has been proven to have a significant effect on financial performance, while CAR and NPL do not always show significant effects. In addition, risk management also plays a role in improving organizational performance directly without necessarily being mediated by financial performance. Therefore, risk management can be considered a strategic factor in enhancing both financial and organizational performance in Islamic banking. The effective implementation of risk management must be carried out comprehensively through improving operational efficiency, strengthening governance, and developing human resources.
syifa syahlatunnisa ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25426 Mon, 20 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Implementasi manajemen diri dalam perilaku ekonomi konsumen muda https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25415
This study aims to analyze in depth the implementation of self-management and its important role in shaping the economic behavior of young consumers, particularly among students at the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, specifically in personal financial management. Self- management is a process of self-control that encompasses intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects, focusing on discipline. This discipline helps students avoid impulsive spending. Effective self- management practices are seen in personal financial management that includes wise use of funds, identification of funding sources, risk management, and future financial planning. Based on the results of the study, it was found that effective self-management practices are manifested in systematic personal financial management, covering four main areas: wise use of funds (proportional allocation), identification and utilization of funding sources, risk management (through emergency funds/insurance), and long-term financial planning for the future. Students who implement strong self-management tend to be rational, independent, and future-oriented consumers, rather than becoming impulsive consumers who are financially vulnerable. Therefore, this study suggests that educational institutions and the environment play an active role in strengthening self-management through financial training programs and character development, as well as improving students' financial literacy.
Rosyadah Rensy Dwi Murnisa Putri ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25415 Mon, 20 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Tokoh Linguistik modern https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25437
This article discusses the thoughts of M.A.K. Halliday as one of the most influential figures in modern linguistics through his theory of Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL). The study aims to explain the background of Halliday’s ideas, the basic concepts of SFL, and his contribution to the development of contemporary language studies. Halliday viewed language not merely as a grammatical system, but as a form of social semiotics used by humans to construct meaning, represent experience, and establish social relationships. In this perspective, language is always closely related to the context of situation and culture. Halliday’s main concepts include the three metafunctions of language: ideational, interpersonal, and textual. He also emphasized the close relationship between text and context through the dimensions of field, tenor, and mode of discourse. This article further explains the concepts of register, code, linguistic system, and social structure as essential components of functional language analysis. The method employed is a library research approach with descriptive-analytical examination of Halliday’s works and other relevant sources. The findings indicate that SFL has strengths because it is contextual, practical, and relevant to various fields such as education, discourse analysis, media studies, and social communication. However, the theory also has limitations, particularly in its terminological complexity and challenges of cross-linguistic application. Overall, Halliday’s thought provides a strong theoretical foundation for understanding language as a dynamic and meaningful social practice.
Zakiyatuz Zahiroh ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25437 Tue, 21 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Ancaman diglosia https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25453
This journal discusses how strengthening Pancasila as a philosophical foundation can enrich the enforcement of human rights, ensuring inclusive and sustainable justice amidst the dynamics of globalization. This study examines the phenomenon of diglossia due to the shift in language use in Generation Z, particularly when Indonesian begins to be marginalized by slang and foreign language elements in the digital space and everyday communication. Generation Z uses a mixed language variety with high intensity, resulting in a functional gap between the "official" language (standard Indonesian) and "informal" language (slang/foreign language). Through a qualitative approach with literature review analysis, this study explores driving factors, such as the influence of social media, popular culture, and social prestige attached to the use of foreign languages. The study findings indicate that this shift has the potential to weaken the national linguistic identity because Indonesian no longer functions optimally as a means of unification, education, and marker of national identity. In addition, the study emphasizes that strengthening linguistic literacy and context-based learning strategies are key to maintaining the balance of language use.
Mochamad zakaria ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25453 Tue, 21 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Al-Jahiz https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25452
This article discusses the contribution of Al-Jahiz as a pioneer of the science of balaghah through his monumental work al-Bayan wa al-Tabyin. The study aims to explain Al-Jahiz’s role in establishing balaghah as an independent discipline and to describe the influence of his thought on the development of Arabic language and literature. The method used is library research with a descriptive-qualitative approach and historical perspective. Data were collected from various primary and secondary sources related to the biography of Al-Jahiz, his works, and the historical development of balaghah. The findings show that before the Abbasid era, balaghah was already known in the Arab tradition of poetry, speeches, and prose, yet it had not been systematically organized as an independent branch of knowledge. Through al-Bayan wa al-Tabyin, Al-Jahiz formulated linguistic concepts covering the aspects of al-bayan, al-ma‘ani, and al-badi‘ using rational and empirical approaches supported by real examples from Arab society. The work also presents systematic analyses of dialects, rhetoric, and the aesthetics of the Arabic language. Al-Jahiz’s ideas greatly influenced later scholars such as Ibn Qutaybah, al-Mas‘udi, and al-Jurjani. Until today, al-Bayan wa al-Tabyin remains an important reference in the study of balaghah, Arabic linguistics, and classical literature. In Indonesia, this practice has developed as a response to weak internal oversight mechanisms, particularly regarding controversial rulings or decisions suspected of reflecting injustice. This article discusses public examination as an instrument of social control involving civil society organizations, academics, and legal practitioners to assess legal reasoning, judicial considerations, and fairness in court judgments. Using a normative juridical approach, the study highlights the urgency of strengthening public examination and proposes a writing framework that may serve as practical guidance. Beyond its corrective role, public examination is also educational because it improves public understanding of the legal reasoning applied by judges. This practice has frequently been used in major cases, especially corruption and high-impact disputes, demonstrating its relevance in a democratic legal system. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with the primary data source taken from the text of the novel, while supporting data are obtained from literature relevant to positive psychology and literary studies. The results of the analysis show that meaningful life in the novel is manifested through three main aspects: hope, love, and gratitude. In addition to these individual aspects, the positive relationship between Ari and Widi also plays an important role in shaping the meaning of life, particularly through the development of a warmer relationship, emotional support, and their ability to negotiate conflicts constructively. The novel demonstrates that the meaning of life is constructed through sacrifice, family commitment, and the values inherited from the figure of a mother. These findings emphasize that experiences of crisis can become a space for psychological transformation, enabling individuals to discover meaning, resilience, and life purposes that extend beyond themselves.

These findings emphasize that experiences of crisis can become a space for psychological transformation, enabling individuals to discover meaning, resilience, and life purposes that extend beyond themselves.
Dwi Ananda Putri ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25256 Wed, 22 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Konstruksi identitas nasional melalui konten kreatif https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25487
The development of digital media has transformed the way society constructs and expresses national identity. In the era of globalization, influencers and content creators have become important actors in promoting Indonesian local values to global audiences through platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. This study aims to analyze the role of creative content in constructing national identity and the influence of influencers in introducing local culture internationally. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative descriptive approach through the analysis of journals, references, and current digital phenomena. The findings show that influencers act as modern cultural ambassadors who package local values, such as batik, traditional cuisine, regional languages, and customs, into attractive, relevant, and accessible content for young generations and global communities. Authentic creative content can increase national pride, strengthen social cohesion, and enhance Indonesia’s soft power internationally. However, several challenges remain, including cultural commercialization, the dominance of foreign cultures, and limited digital literacy. Therefore, collaboration among government institutions, educational sectors, and creative industries is needed to support sustainable local value-based content production. This article discusses the concepts, objectives, stages, influencing factors, and challenges of human resource planning. HRP aims to ensure the availability of the right workforce in terms of quantity, quality, and competence according to organizational needs at the right time. The stages of HRP include job analysis, preparation of job descriptions and job specifications, implementation of work analysis, and regular maintenance and updating of job data. In addition, HRP is influenced by internal and external factors, such as government policies, workforce quality, technological changes, labor market conditions, and corporate business strategies. In its implementation, organizations often face several challenges, including limited data, uncertainty in the business environment, lack of management support, and resistance from employees and employers. Therefore, adaptive strategies, adequate human resource information systems, and strong coordination between management and employees are required. Effective HRP enables organizations to improve operational efficiency, strengthen competitiveness, and achieve both short-term and long-term goals sustainably.
Aulia Sekar Maharani ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/18776 Wed, 22 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Keadilan yang berpihak https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25049
This study examines discrimination issues within Indonesia's law enforcement system, revealing fundamental gaps between constitutional principles and field practices. Through a juridical-normative approach reinforced by sociological analysis, this research uncovers systematic discrimination occurring at every stage of legal proceedings, from investigation to verdict execution. Findings indicate that socio-economic status, political power, and financial capacity serve as primary determinants in legal processes and outcomes. The striking disparity in sentencing between corruption cases involving trillions in state losses and minor criminal cases affecting lower-class communities reflects a double standard within the judicial system. Unequal access to legal aid, weak integrity among law enforcement officers, power intervention, and low legal awareness among society constitute mutually reinforcing root problems. The impacts extend beyond eroding public trust in judicial institutions to widening social gaps and threatening national stability. Addressing these issues requires comprehensive reform encompassing strengthened judicial independence, system digitalization for enhanced transparency, equitable expansion of legal aid access, and continuous capacity and integrity improvement among law enforcement officers.
Muhammad David Febrian Nurzaki ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25049 Wed, 22 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Penerapan manajemen risiko operasional pada mobile banking syariah https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25346
The development of digital technology has encouraged Islamic banks to provide mobile banking services as a fast, practical, and efficient transaction platform. However, behind this convenience lie various operational risks arising from human error, system failures, weak internal processes, and external threats such as cybercrime. This study aims to analyze the implementation of operational risk management in Islamic mobile banking and its relationship with Sharia compliance in maintaining customer trust. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review of relevant sources. The findings show that operational risk management is carried out through the stages of risk identification, measurement, monitoring, and control on a continuous basis. The implementation of digital security systems, strengthening internal controls, and improving human resource competencies are the main strategies to minimize risks. In addition, Sharia compliance plays an important role in ensuring that all services and transactions are in accordance with Islamic principles, thereby enhancing reputation and customer confidence. The integration of operational risk management and Sharia compliance is proven to be an essential factor in creating secure, reliable, and sustainable mobile banking services. Therefore, Islamic banks need to continuously innovate and strengthen supervisory systems to address the dynamic risks of the digital era.
Jesika Devi Mufita Anggraini ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25346 Wed, 22 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Analisis manajemen risiko pembiayaan dalam menekan NPF pada perbankan syariah https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25377
This study aims to examine financing risk management in an effort to reduce the level of Non-Performing Financing (NPF) in Islamic banking, referring to OJK Regulation No. 65/POJK.03/2016. The study results indicate that financing risk is the primary risk due to its direct link to the bank's intermediation function and asset quality. The implementation of risk management, which encompasses the stages of identification, measurement, monitoring, and control, is in principle in line with OJK regulations. However, its implementation remains suboptimal due to limitations in early risk detection and ineffective financing oversight. Risk mitigation efforts are carried out through the application of prudential principles, increased active supervision, and restructuring of problem financing as the primary strategy to reduce the NPF level and maintain asset quality. Overall, the effectiveness of financing risk management impacts profitability, stability, and public trust. Therefore, strengthening the implementation of risk management based on regulations and Sharia principles is a crucial factor in maintaining the sustainability of Islamic banking.
Nurlaila Tria Agustina ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25377 Thu, 23 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Kematangan spiritual sebagai faktor protektif terhadap distres psikologis https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25445
Psychological distress among young adults has become increasingly prevalent due to developmental demands, social pressures, and uncertainties of modern life. Psychological research has predominantly focused on pathological perspectives or cognitive-behavioral coping strategies, while the role of spiritual maturity as a protective factor remains underexplored. This article aims to examine the role of spiritual maturity in reducing psychological distress among young adults through a humanistic psychology and spiritual coping framework. A conceptual-analytical approach was employed by reviewing relevant psychological theories and recent empirical studies on spirituality, psychological well-being, and adaptive coping mechanisms. The analysis indicates that spiritual maturity enhances meaning in life, emotional regulation, self-acceptance, and psychological resilience, which collectively function as protective factors against non-clinical psychological distress. These findings suggest that spiritual maturity extends beyond religious practices and serves as an internal psychological resource that supports mental health. This article contributes to preventive clinical psychology by highlighting the importance of integrating spirituality-based perspectives into mental health promotion and intervention frameworks.
Shilham Adzin ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25445 Thu, 23 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Implementasi prinsip muamalah islam dalam kehidupan sosial https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/17498
Islam as a comprehensive religion regulates not only the vertical relationship between humans and God, but also horizontal relationships among people through the concept of muamalah. Among the forms of muamalah that remain relevant in daily life are wakalah, luqathah, and ghasab. This study aims to analyze the concepts, legal foundations, and implementation of these three legal notions within contemporary social contexts. The research employs a library research method with a normative-qualitative approach by examining the Qur’an, hadith, classical fiqh literature, and modern academic sources. The findings indicate that wakalah is a lawful delegation of authority as long as its pillars and conditions are fulfilled. Luqathah reflects the principle of trustworthiness in safeguarding found property and protecting ownership rights. Meanwhile, ghasab refers to the unlawful use or seizure of another person’s property without permission and is strictly prohibited because it contains elements of injustice. These three concepts demonstrate that Islamic law highly upholds justice, responsibility, and protection of individual rights. This study confirms the importance of contextualizing fiqh muamalah in modern society in order to establish an ethical, orderly, and sharia-compliant social system.
Tina Silfi Ana ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/17498 Thu, 23 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Konsep limit tak hingga dan himpunan tak hingga dengan konsep ketakterbatasan tuhan https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/22377
This study explores the relationship between the concept of infinitude in mathematics, particularly infinite limits and infinite sets, and the boundless nature of God from a theological perspective. The research uses a philosophical approach to analyze these concepts and finds that although mathematics can model infinitude through formal systems, the nature of God surpasses all numerical limitations and human understanding. Infinite limits illustrate the asymptotic approach of human knowledge toward the essence of God: always approaching, yet never fully comprehending it. Meanwhile, the theory of infinite sets provides a metaphorical framework to reflect the vastness and complexity of the divine nature. The integration of these two concepts is not an attempt at reduction, but rather an interdisciplinary dialogue that enriches both science and religion. Research results show that mathematics helps recognize the limitations of human rationality, whereas theology encourages an attitude of intellectual humility in the face of transcendent reality. Thus, this approach opens up opportunities for joint reflection between science and religion without blurring the essence of each (Moore, 2018).
Ahmad Firdaus Alvyando ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/22377 Mon, 18 May 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Peran pendidikan moderisasi beragama di perguruan tinggi islam https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/17400
Religious moderation has become a strategic issue in the development of Islamic higher education in Indonesia as a response to growing intolerance, radicalism, and social polarization within a multicultural society. Islamic higher education institutions play an important role in instilling values of tolerance, justice, and respect for diversity among students. This study aims to analyze the implementation of religious moderation education at three state Islamic universities: UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, and UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. The research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach through the analysis of academic literature and institutional documents. The findings reveal that each university applies different strategies in internalizing the values of religious moderation. UIN Sunan Kalijaga emphasizes multicultural education and interfaith dialogue, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim focuses on character integration and strengthening lecturers’ roles, while UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin applies a constructivist approach in Islamic education learning. However, implementation still faces several obstacles, including resistance from some academic communities, limited lecturer competence, and uneven institutional policies. This study confirms the importance of curriculum strengthening, lecturer training, and inter-campus collaboration in building a moderate, inclusive, and sustainable Islamic higher education ecosystem.
Celia Laila Husna ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/17400 Thu, 23 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Penemuan makna hidup dalam Novel Seporsi Mie Ayam Sebelum Mati https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25082
This study aims to analyze the existential suffering and search for meaning in life experienced by the main character Ale in Bhrian Khrisna's novel Seporsi Mie Ayam Sebelum Mati (A Bowl of Chicken Noodles Before Death). This novel was chosen because it presents existential issues about the Existential Vacuum, which are rarely discussed in depth in Indonesian popular literature, particularly how the decision to end one's life can develop into a spiritual and social journey that determines the direction of a character's life through the interpretation of suffering. The focus of this study lies on two aspects, namely the form of existential suffering experienced by the character and the process of discovering the meaning of life. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literary psychology approach. The analysis is carried out through intensive reading and interpretation of the novel text by highlighting quotations that reflect inner conflict, moral dilemmas, and existential dimensions. Viktor Frankl's Logotherapy theory is used to understand the process of searching for meaning in life through responsibility, accepted suffering, and contribution to others. The results of the study show that the main character experiences existential suffering characterized by self-hatred and loss of purpose in life. The main finding shows that the character succeeds in finding meaning in life through Radical Acceptance of reality and authentic contribution to others, which leads to inner freedom and true peace.

Ibnatia Hasna Fawwaz ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25082 Thu, 23 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Karakteristik, model, strategi dan keberhasilan kepemimpinan pendidikan dalam meningkatkan mutu sekolah https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/16578
This article discusses educational leadership, including its definition, characteristics or models, strategies, and the success of educational leadership based on the leadership at SMAN 1 Banyuasin III. Although Islamic banking in Indonesia continues to grow, the reality on the ground shows that public understanding of Islamic finance remains low. Many people are not yet familiar with the principles, characteristics, and workings of Islamic products, giving rise to various misconceptions, such as that Islamic banks are the same as conventional banks or that contracts are merely a formality in Islamic transactions. This lack of understanding can influence how the public views Islamic banks and affect their level of trust. This article is conceptual in nature, using an analytical approach to various literature to understand the relationship between three main aspects, namely literacy, perception, and trust. Literature analysis shows that the higher a person's Islamic financial literacy, the better their perception of the operations and values applied in Islamic banking. Positive perceptions will then contribute to increased customer confidence in using Islamic banking services. The conceptual framework developed in this article is expected to serve as a basis for further research.
jazilatur rohmah ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/22780 Fri, 30 Jan 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Pengaruh konformitas sosial terhadap perubahan identitas mahasiswa di lingkungan perguruan tinggi https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25597
A change in self identity among students is something that often happens in the university environment, especially when they are in transition from adolescence to adulthood. One one think that affects the change is social conformity, whis is a person’s tendency to adapt to the rules, values, and group actions in order to be accepted in their social environment. This research wants to see how social conformity affects the identity changes of students in the university environment. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, which describes social phenomena based on the reality that occurs in the field. The results of the discussion show that social pressure from the campus environment, such as the desire to be accepted in society, can encourage students to adjust their identity, both in terms of appearance, behavior, and values adopted. In addition, lack of self-confidence and the search for identity also contribute to the strengthening of social conformity among students. On the other hand, identity change does not always have a negative impact, because in some cases it can help individuals adjust to the new environment. However, if done excessively, this can lead to the loss of original and authentic identity. Therefore, it is important to have self-awareness and a supportive campus environment so that students can develop without losing their personal identity.
Moh Azwar Anas sh ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25597 Thu, 30 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Analisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa terhadap layanan digital banking https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25362
This study investigates the factors influencing students’ interest in adopting digital banking services at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). The ongoing digital transformation in the financial sector positions students, particularly Generation Z, as a crucial and strategic market segment. A quantitative research method was employed by distributing questionnaires to students at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Data analysis was conducted by examining the correlations between Islamic financial literacy, perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness in relation to students’ interest in utilizing digital banking services. The findings reveal that both Islamic financial literacy and the ease of digital access significantly affect students’ adoption of digital banking. These results highlight the importance of strengthening financial literacy and enhancing mobile banking features to foster greater financial inclusion among academic communities. Consequently, the study recommends the integration of more educative elements within mobile banking applications to support financial awareness and broaden the reach of Islamic banking services in higher education institutions.
Velani Laily Noviana ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://urj.uin-malang.ac.id/index.php/mij/article/view/25362 Thu, 16 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000
