Peran pendidikan agama Islam dalam membentuk kepribadian Islami peserta didik

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is learning material in the family, community and school environment which aims to strengthen human honor and dignity. PAI functions to respect other religions and understand Islamic principles. The main goal of PAI is to form "Insan Kamil" with high morals. Character education in Islam has existed since the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, with the main aim of improving human morals. Islamic education emphasizes human development through a holistic approach that includes morality, spirituality, intelligence and the practicality of everyday life. PAI also plays a strategic role in preserving and fostering national values, as well as shaping students' personalities which are reflected in their daily behavior. PAI provides a moral and ethical foundation, understanding Islamic teachings, developing spiritual awareness, forming noble morals, and encouraging moral independence and involvement of parents and the community. Islamic religious education is able to create an educational environment that supports the formation of students' Islamic personalities and has a positive impact on society. This article uses a literature study research method using references from several journals.
