Abstract

Urban farming in Jakarta has many benefits, such as increasing food security, air quality, and public health. However, there are several challenges that need to be addressed, such as limited land, poor soil quality, and limited clean water. Solutions to overcome these challenges include the use of hydroponic technology, water-efficient irrigation systems, and rainwater harvesting. Other innovations such as vertical farming and green roofs can also help maximize limited space. The local government has an important role to play in supporting urban farming by providing financial support, land access, and education to farmers. Collaboration between the government, farmers, and the community is also needed to create a conducive environment for the growth of urban farming in Jakarta.
