Implementasi pengelolaan koleksi di Museum Musik Indonesia
Abstract
Museum Musik Indonesia (MMI) is a specialized museum and the only music museum in Indonesia. With a total collection of approximately 35,000 collections, with various types of collections such as cassettes, vinyl records, magazines, books, posters, artist clothes, traditional musical instruments, audio equipment, and photo albums. This research was written using a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. All research results are described by referring to interviews and direct observation. The interview was conducted on Thursday, June 13, 2024, with Mr. Usman Mansur who is the administrative staff at MMI as a resource person and guide in observation to understand the management process, facilities and infrastructure used in managing collections in the museum. Based on the results of the research, collection management begins with collection procurement activities obtained from donations or purchases. Then the new collection data collection activities are added. This data collection includes several data, namely: type of collection, musician's name, musician's birthplace, year of birth, album name, year of release, serial number, and record label. collection presentation activities by displaying collections on shelves and playing vinyl records so that museum visitors can enjoy them, and finally digital maintenance activities by digitizing collections and manually held once a year to prevent damage and ensure the preservation of collections.
