Perspektif sejarah dan kontemporer
Abstract
Islam has become one of the main forces that shaped world civilization, especially during the golden age (8th to 13th centuries). In this period, Muslims made major contributions in the fields of science, philosophy, art and government systems. This article aims to examine the role of Islam in building world civilization, both in the past and in the modern era. Apart from that, this article also discusses how universal Islamic values remain relevant in facing the challenges of globalization, such as social inequality, environmental damage and conflict between nations. The research approach used is literature study, referring to trusted academic sources. This article concludes that Islam can continue to play a significant role in building a just and sustainable world civilization.
