Abstract

Film adaptations of literary works have become an increasingly common phenomenon in the entertainment industry. Many novels that were previously less known gained popularity after being adapted into films. This article explores how film adaptations impact the popularity of literary works by analyzing famous examples such as Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter. This study employs a literature review method to examine book sales trends before and after the film adaptations were released. The findings indicate that film adaptations can boost public interest in reading the original literary works and expand their audience reach. However, challenges also arise, such as changes in the storyline that may alter readers’ perceptions of the original work.
