Kebudayaan tradisional: eksistensi batik dalam era digital
Abstract
Batik is a traditional culture form from Indonesia that uses certain techniques to decorate fabrics with patterns or motifs made using wax and dyes. This culture has been recognized by Unesco as a world cultural heritage since 2009. In the digital era, the development of batik has undergone a transformation in traditional industries that have begun to utilize technology to strengthen competitiveness and sustainability. As one of Indonesia's cultural riches, batik can now be reached by the global market through various digital platforms such as e-commerce, social media, and digital design software. This technological innovation creates opportunities for batik artisans to market their work to buyers around the world at more competitive prices and wider reach. In addition, digital progress has also had an impact on the way batik is produced. This article aims to discuss the impact of digitalization on the batik industry, especially in terms of product improvement innovation, and changes in consumer behavior. Developments in the digital batik era have changed the way people consume the internet world, making it easier for them to find and buy batik. Manual coloring and design techniques can now be simplified by graphic design applications, digital printing techniques that increase manufacturing efficiency. By implementing technology, the batik industry not only maintains the authenticity of cultural heritage, but also adapts to the development of ever-changing market trends.
