Urgensi kebahasa-araban dalam meningkatkan kompetensi berbahasa arab mahasiswa di era globalisasi
Abstract
This study examines the urgency of kebahasa-Araban (Arabic linguistic competence) in enhancing university students’ Arabic proficiency in the era of globalization. Arabic, as the language of the Qur’an and Islamic scholarship, also functions as an international language with strategic roles in academic, social, and professional domains. However, students’ mastery of Arabic still faces challenges, including traditional teaching methods, limited language environments, low motivation, and the dominance of other global languages. This research employs a qualitative approach by reviewing literature on kebahasa-Araban, pedagogical challenges, and innovative learning strategies. The findings reveal that Arabic competence should not only focus on grammatical aspects (qawaid), but also on communicative skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Innovative strategies such as digital technology integration, blended learning, and the involvement of native speakers have proven effective in strengthening students’ practical abilities. Furthermore, promoting kebahasa-Araban through a multicultural approach equips students with cross-cultural communication skills while reinforcing their intellectual identity. Therefore, Arabic linguistic competence is highly urgent as an academic, religious, and professional instrument to shape excellent and competitive students who are ready to face global challenges.
