Peran orang tua dalam pendidikan anak
Abstract
Child education is primarily the responsibility of parents and the family environment, which serves as the first foundation for shaping a child's character, behavior, and emotional development. However, various modern challenges such as social change, rapid technological advancement, and economic demands have reduced the quality of parent–child interactions. This situation is further exacerbated by the rising cases of child abuse in Indonesia, as reported by KPAI in 2024, which reveal significant numbers of neglect and violence occurring within families. Through a literature study reviewing relevant journals, this research discusses the essential roles of parents in supporting child development, including serving as role models, providing emotional support, and instilling moral values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, independence, and hard work. The study also highlights the influence of genetic factors that interact with the environment in shaping a child's developmental outcomes. The findings indicate that positive parenting, consistent interaction, and early value-based education play crucial roles in successfully forming a child's character and preparing them for future social life.
