This article discusses the evolution of Modern Arabic Literature, the crucial role of Romanticism, and the significant contribution of Egyptian poet Ibrahim Naji (1898–1953) as a pioneer of pure Romanticism. Arabic literature experienced a revival ('Ashr an -Nahḍah) due to Western influence, which encouraged the emergence of reform movements, including Romanticism. The purpose of this study is to analyze Naji's biography, career, and influence, particularly in the context of Madrasah Apollo. The methodology used is content analysis of library data related to Naji's works and biography to identify the characteristics of his poetry. The results of the study show that Ibrahim Naji is a central figure who bridges Arab tradition with Western Romantic thought. With his educational background as a doctor and his command of foreign languages, Naji dedicated all of his poetry to three diwans. Naji's greatest contribution was to shift the focus of Arabic poetry from social issues to individual inner experiences, a monumental step of renewal. Ultimately, Naji's work, “Al-Athlal,” became the most iconic and popular poem, demonstrating a wealth of diction and emotional power that has stood the test of time.
