Abstract

This study aims to analyze community empowerment in Kemiri Village through the improvement of public facilities and parenting education as an integrative and sustainable rural development model. The research employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach over six months, involving families with children aged 0–12 years. The program focused on developing child-friendly learning spaces and playgrounds, as well as conducting workshops, focus group discussions, home visits, and establishing parent support groups. The findings indicate that improving public facilities increased community participation, strengthened social cohesion, and enhanced children’s access to safe and educational environments. Parenting education contributed to significant changes in parents’ attitudes and behaviors toward positive parenting practices, improved family communication, and reduced the use of physical punishment. The synergy between physical infrastructure development and social capacity building generated holistic impacts on children’s cognitive, socio-emotional, and physical development. This integrative model effectively strengthens family resilience and offers a replicable framework for community-based village development.
