Pemberdayaan tempat pembakaran dengan metode rocket stove guna pengelolaan sampah di Mts Nu Pakis
Abstract
The problem of waste in the school environment remains a challenge, especially due to the limited availability of environmentally friendly waste management facilities. MTs UN Pakis faces the problem of waste accumulation that has the potential to cause environmental pollution and health problems if not managed properly. This study aims to describe the process of empowering waste incinerators through the application of the rocket stove method as an effort to manage waste more efficiently and minimize smoke. The method used is a participatory approach by involving teachers and students in the planning, construction, and utilization of rocket stove-based incinerators. The stages of the activity include identifying waste types, making incinerators, socializing their use, and initial evaluation of the equipment's performance. The results of the activity indicate that the application of rocket stoves increases combustion efficiency, reduces smoke production, and reduces the volume of waste residue compared to open burning. In addition, this activity provides an educational impact in the form of increased knowledge and awareness of the school community regarding the importance of responsible waste management. Thus, empowering waste incinerators using the rocket stove method can be an alternative solution for applicable, educational, and sustainable waste management in the school environment.
