The mental health of santri in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) is vulnerable to disruption due to high academic demands, tight schedules, separation from family, and social dynamics such as bullying. These pressures can significantly trigger various inner illnesses such as stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, and identity crises, directly disrupting their mental homeostasis. This study aims to deeply examine the role of congregational worship and spiritual guidance in pesantren as the primary mechanism of mental homeostasis in stabilizing the mental health of santri. The method used is a literature review with a descriptive-narrative approach that analyzes various secondary literature from 2020 to 2025. The findings indicate that pesantren have a tradition of addressing mental imbalances through intuitive observation by caregivers and intensive spiritual guidance. Consistent congregational worship, routine zikir, and communal traditions function effectively as spaces for collective healing and positive social support. Furthermore, the practice of muhasabah trains the independence of santri in controlling their emotional regulation. In conclusion, the synergy between spiritual therapeutic approaches and environmental support is crucial in maintaining mental resilience. Pesantren are advised to integrate structured counseling services and collaborate with mental health professionals to support the comprehensive psychological well-being of santri.
