Evaluation is an essential component of the Islamic education system as it functions to measure the effectiveness of the learning process while serving as a basis for continuous improvement and educational development. This study aims to examine the concepts, procedures, and implementation techniques of evaluation in Islamic education and their role in achieving educational objectives that emphasize the development of students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The research employs a library research method with a descriptive-qualitative approach through the analysis of relevant academic literature. The findings indicate that evaluation in Islamic education is not limited to assessing knowledge acquisition but also encompasses the development of attitudes, moral values, and practical skills in accordance with Islamic principles. The evaluation process involves several stages, including planning, data collection, data verification, data processing and analysis, interpretation of results, and follow-up actions. Furthermore, evaluation techniques are categorized into test and non-test methods. Test techniques include placement tests, diagnostic tests, formative tests, and summative tests, while non-test techniques consist of observation, interviews, and attitude scales. The integration of both approaches enables a more comprehensive and objective assessment of student learning outcomes. Therefore, evaluation in Islamic education serves as a strategic instrument for enhancing the quality of learning and ensuring the achievement of educational goals effectively, holistically, and sustainably.
