Abstract

The development of globalization and social media influences the lifestyle of the younger generation, which tends to be consumptive and excessive. Amidst these conditions, the minimalist lifestyle of hadith as a lifestyle that emphasizes simplicity and the use of goods according to need. This study aims to analyze the adaptation of a minimalist lifestyle from an Islamic perspective and in the lives of students in Islamic boarding schools. The method used is a library study by reviewing various journals and literature related to minimalism, the lives of students, and Islamic teachings. The results of the discussion indicate that the lives of students in Islamic boarding schools reflect the values ​​of asceticism, contentment, and the prohibition of israf through simple, disciplined, independent, and frugal living habits. The implementation of a minimalist lifestyle also has positive spiritual, social, and economic impacts for students. However, the development of modernization and social media presents challenges in maintaining the values ​​of simplicity in the Islamic boarding school environment.
