Ekonomi perhatian (attention economy): Ketika waktu dan fokus menjadi komoditas
Keywords:

The rapid growth of digital technology has changed the way people spend time, receive information, and direct their attention in everyday life. In today’s internet-based environment, human attention is no longer viewed only as part of social interaction, but also as something that has economic value for digital platforms and technology companies. This study discusses the phenomenon of the attention economy and its influence on modern society in the digital era. The discussion focuses on how digital platforms maintain user engagement through algorithms, application notifications, automatic content recommendations, and interactive features designed to keep users active for longer periods of time. This research applies a literature study method by examining academic writings, scientific references, and digital information related to social media and communication technology. The findings show that competition for public attention in digital spaces has created significant changes in people’s lifestyles, especially in the ways individuals communicate, access information, make decisions, and maintain concentration. Besides creating social impacts, the attention economy also provides new opportunities in digital business, creative industries, and the wider spread of information. Therefore, greater awareness and wiser use of digital technology are needed so that human attention is not entirely controlled by rapidly developing digital systems.
