Implementasi nilai-nilai moderasi beragama di lingkungan pesantren

This study aims to analyze the implementation of religious moderation values within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) as an effort to foster tolerance, balance, and harmonious religious life in a multicultural society. Religious moderation has become an important concept in addressing the challenges of radicalism, intolerance, and the influence of digital developments that may affect the mindset of students and society. This research employs a literature study method by reviewing various academic sources, including journals, books, articles, and previous studies relevant to the themes of religious moderation and pesantren education. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation and content analysis of selected literature sources.The findings indicate that the implementation of religious moderation values in pesantren is carried out through the teaching of classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning), the cultivation of tolerance, the strengthening of moral values, deliberative culture, and the exemplary role of kiai in daily life. Furthermore, pesantren play a significant role in instilling the principles of tawassuth (moderation), tasamuh (tolerance), tawazun (balance), and i’tidal (justice) among students as provisions for social life. Such implementation has a positive impact on shaping students’ inclusive and tolerant character and enhancing interreligious harmony. Therefore, pesantren have a strategic contribution in strengthening religious moderation in Indonesia.
