Abstract

This study aims to analyze the values of integrity for researchers, particularly in the discipline of chemistry. Research integrity is an essential concept in the development and application of scientific knowledge, as it influences the validity, reliability, and accuracy of research outcomes. This study employs a literature review method by examining various scholarly sources, including journals, books, articles, and previous studies relevant to the topic of integrity among chemistry researchers. Data were collected through documentation and content analysis of the selected literature.Furthermore, this study aims to analyze Islamic values as the foundation of research integrity among students of the Chemistry Study Program at Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Research integrity constitutes a fundamental element in maintaining scientific honesty, data validity, and public trust in research findings. The study adopts a literature review approach by examining various scholarly journals, books, articles, and previous studies related to research integrity, academic ethics, and Islamic values. The data were analyzed using content analysis to identify the relationship between Islamic principles and the practice of research integrity. The findings indicate that the Islamic values of ṣiddiq (truthfulness), amanah (trustworthiness), itqan (professional excellence), and tabligh (responsibility in conveying knowledge) have strong relevance in shaping researchers who are honest, responsible, professional, and transparent. In addition, the existence of the Research Integrity Risk Index (RI²) highlights the importance of strengthening a culture of research integrity within higher education institutions. Therefore, the internalization of Islamic values represents a strategic approach to fostering a research culture that is of high quality, ethically grounded, and oriented toward the advancement of knowledge for the benefit of society.
